Nowadays, there are many cases which require a special attention needed to be covered by the side of design discipline; and consequently the designer. Forced migration and the refugee user; as it’s consequence; is one such a case. In recent years, one of the very widely developed consequence of forced migration phenomenon is the ‘crisis’ with Syrian refugees. According to Isuf (2018), the number of Syrian refugees has increased especially in Turkey and specifically in Istanbul within last few years. Isuf states that, many organizations nowadays are trying to solve the issue about the housing problem of refugees. Therefore, with her work ‘A Practical and Flexible Container Architecture Concept as a Quick Response to Refugee Housing Problem. The Case With Syrian Refugees in Historical Peninsula District, Istanbul’ she proposed a solution for the housing problem of refugees in Istanbul; she brings a new architectural proposal which she believes that can be the best architectural solution for the Syrian refugees within a specific district in Istanbul. As a designer, the deep analyses made on her work, has lead me to think about the issue: how a designer can be influential and integrated into the process of building for refugees and those user profiles who are or were victims of different disaster typologies; how designs of objects can respond to their needs and if really design can positively influence the process of refugee resettlements. Therefore, as in such kind of disaster cases (as with the case caused by forced migration) the user profiles lose everything that they have together with their homes and objects representing their cultural and personal identical features, it is belived that one of the very crucial problems to be solved is about objects used in normal daily lives of people. Furnitures are those objects fulfilling the daily lives of people; and in this context designing furnitures for these kind of user profiles in this work is seen as a very basic requirement that needs to be handled in by the designer. There are too many issues that occur as criterias to be followed when designing for emergent cases. One of these criterias requires the design to be cost- effective; because of the number of the user profile, because of the poverty state in which both the aid institutions and the user profiles are. Another criteria is related with the requirement of time- efficient process of production; because of the rapidly growing number of the ‘victims’. Moreover, the third criteria is about the flexibility and portable feature of these furnitures’ designs; because transporting them to the new ressettlement areas can be a very problematic issue leading to delays in the process of taking these victims back into the normal human living conditions. Therefore, this work concentrates on designing of a chair model that can hold all the necessary criterias required in furniture design and specifically those mentioned above.

Abstract
Nowadays, there are many cases which require a special attention needed to be covered by the side of design discipline; and consequently the designer. Forced migration and the refugee user; as it’s consequence; is one such a case. In recent years, one of the very widely developed consequence of forced migration phenomenon is the ‘crisis’ with Syrian refugees.
