If we think of the categories of daily wear and swimwear in womens fashion today we realize they have little in common between each other, but in its beginnings, in the late 19th century, the swimsuit was a piece of clothing not distant in shape and fabrics from the ones women used to wear every day. In the 20’s the swimsuit started to suffer major changes that led it to the way we know it today. The invention of synthetic fibers as Nylon and Lastex in 1930 plus the increasing legitimation of swimming as a leisure activity, changed the swimsuit which became more scanty and form-fitting over time. This way and following the path of industrialization until the present, the swimsuit occupies an exclusive category: Swimwear. This thesis aims to fade the lines between two relevant contemporary categories nowadays: Casual tailoring and swimwear. Just as it used to be in the beginning, when their features were overlapped, but adapting the aesthetics, materials and wearability to our present. It will be designed a collection of womens casual tailoring in which the influence of swimwear enhances typologies. Being typological exploration the main purpose of this project.

Abstract
If we think of the categories of daily wear and swimwear in womens fashion today we realize they have little in common between each other, but in its beginnings, in the late 19th century, the swimsuit was a piece of clothing not distant in shape and fabrics from the ones women used to wear every day.
