According to the Sustainable Development perspective, can the so-called “Sharing Economy” encourage a shift towards the environmental, social and economic sustainability? If this could be true, why and with which characteristics? And which can be the limits and the barriers? To give a first answer to these questions the increasingly diffused “sharing mobility” systems have been analysed. Those mobility services that can be used individually thought the vehicles are not purchased and the service is paid per time and/or distance. The results of this analysis show that, following peculiar conditions, the “sharing mobility” can be interesting to the extent that providers offering the mobility product-service system are economically interested to reduce the consumption of resources in use, to use renewable resources, to extend the product lifespan, to facilitate the reuse and the recycling. The non-ownership of vehicles can have a positive impact even on the social equity dimension of sustainability, in terms of a increased access to useful services which can increase the quality of life. Finally, the potentially negative effects, or rather the condition in which these can take place, are highlighted. In conclusion, the thesis presents some reflections on how much the considerations made on the sharing mobility could be extended to other product-service sectors of the sharing economy.

Abstract
In conclusion, the thesis presents some reflections on how much the considerations made on the sharing mobility could be extended to other product-service sectors of the sharing economy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
