Located in the heart of the Alpi Retiche, there is the village of Piazzeda, in the municipality of Bianzone, in the Province of Sondrio. There are innumerable places on the national territory that, like Piazzeda, have been abandoned to themselves for the most different reasons. These places belong to different territorial areas: plains, hills, mountains, both halfway up, but also alpine pastures located at a higher altitude, up to the so-called "periurban" areas. The need to regenerate these places is becoming more and more concrete, giving life to projects that aim at their rebirth. The following text, introduction to this Master's Degree Thesis, focuses on the Valtellina mountain area and in particular on the half-coast area, those places on mountain slopes up to a height of 1000 meters above sea level. This project was born from a particular interest for the re-discovery of the native territory, its morphological characteristics and its memory. Can an abandoned village be regenerated? What are the actions that can be done to succeed in this intent? Starting from questions such as these and analyzing a series of case studies born with the same purpose and having had positive results, transforming the abandoned places into places of interest, a specific project has been devised for the territory of Piazzeda. The project is interested in recovering both the architectural memory that distinguishes this village, and its agricultural activity, now completely abandoned, through the drafting of a functional program within the village. According to the functions, three cores are defined: agricultural production, breeding, receptive. These functions have been distributed in three different points of the village, according to the needs for the various activities, but also and especially for the morphology of the territory and for the location of existing buildings.

Abstract
These functions have been distributed in three different points of the village, according to the needs for the various activities, but also and especially for the morphology of the territory and for the location of existing buildings.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
