The thesis investigates the fundamental role of architecture and design thinking in the process of defining the complex Soviet expressive language, whose evolution will be influenced by the search for consistency with the image of the party and its leadership. Deepening the subject of competitions, particularly widespread in the Soviet Union, through the documentation produced by designers, critics and the government during the years of major public competitions, to find the link between the process of cultural evolution of socialism and the development of a new design current clearly recognizable by the people as a Soviet, reconstructing the path that will lead to the sunset of the cultural heritage of the revolution in architecture and society and the consequent arrival in the unique Stalinist thought.
