Bari <-> Matera. Le ferrovie appulo-lucane in mostra. Storia, mezzi, luoghi

All have chosen, at least once, as a means of transport, for longer or shorter trips, the train. But how many of them, while they are crouched in the seats and with their heads resting on the window, have wondered who knows what wonders hide the innumerable places scattered along the path that separates from the destination? How many of them, darting at 300 km / h aboard a flaming red train, have wondered how that vehicle works and, above all, how much history and technology has crossed those rails? Few, indeed very few. On the occasion of the appointment of Matera as the European Capital of Culture for 2019, "Bari <-> Matera.Le Ferrovie Appulo Lucane in mostra. Storia, mezzi, luoghi "offers the possibility to travel by train with different eyes: in the exhibition at the "Vecchie Officine di Bari Scalo" you can discover and touch the history of the railway, learn about the principles that have run over time and make it modern today, marvel at the beauty of the territories that the train travels on its journey to the city of the “Sassi” and have fun, because it is very true that we have always dreamed of driving a train, falling into the role of machinist. At the end of the exhibition you can simply go back home or take the train with new eyes and, perhaps, choosing to reach the final destination after discovering the places known in the exhibition.

Tutti hanno scelto, almeno una volta, come mezzo di trasporto, per viaggi più o meno lunghi, il treno. Ma quanti, mentre sono accovacciati nelle poltrone e con la testa appoggiata al finestrino, si sono chiesti chissà quali meraviglie nascondono gli innumerevoli luoghi disseminati lungo il tragitto che separa dalla meta? Quanti, sfrecciando a 300 km/h a bordo di un fiammante treno rosso, si sono mai chiesti come funziona quel mezzo e, soprattutto, quanta storia e tecnologia ha solcato quelle rotaie? Pochi, anzi pochissimi. In occasione della nomina di Matera quale Capitale Europea della Cultura per il 2019, “Bari <-> Matera.Le Ferrovie Appulo Lucane in mostra. Storia, mezzi, luoghi” offre la possibilità di intraprendere un viaggio in treno con occhi differenti: nell’allestimento presso le “Vecchie Officine di Bari Scalo” si potranno scoprire e toccare con mano la storia della ferrovia, conoscere i principi che l’hanno fatta funzionare nel tempo e che la rendono moderna oggi, meravigliarsi dinanzi alle bellezze degli innumerevoli territori che il treno attraversa nel suo viaggio verso la città dei Sassi e divertirsi, perché è verissimo che tutti abbiamo sempre sognato di guidare un treno, calandosi nei panni del macchinista. Alla fine del percorso si potrà semplicemente tornare a casa oppure intraprendere il viaggio con occhi nuovi e, magari, scegliendo di raggiungere la meta finale dopo aver scoperto e vissuto di persona luoghi conosciuti nel percorso espositivo.
