Tessere relazioni. Una rete di interventi dell'abitare pubblico e privato nell'area circostante viale Molise

The project site, a peripheral area surrounding viale Molise, is characterized by some features that make it a complex system that needs particular attention during the design phases. By analyzing the neighborhood it has been clear that a vision that doesn’t modify the existing unstable balance between the parts is much needed, with the purpose to generate new solid relations between them. Assuming this condition, several intervention are conceived aiming to reconnect this fragmented reality and trying to focus on the type of relations that arise between the poles scattered on the area. Therefore, the design of the spaces is not the final goal of the project, but a tool to empower the existing social dynamics and to create new ones. Some of the distinctive characteristics of the area led to several project themes, that eventually have been translated into practical actions that operate from the urban to the detail scale. Starting from the real needs of the neighborhood, whether concrete or not, and trying not to simplify this complex reality, are the strategies that have been adopted during the whole design process with the purpose of realizing effective interventions. A further element considered during the execution of the project is the necessity of maintaining it open to future development and to give to the intervention the chance to grow with the neighborhood adapting themselves to present and future needs.

L’area d’intervento, zona semiperiferica circostante viale Molise, presenta delle peculiarità che la rendono un sistema complesso e che necessita quindi di un’attenzione particolare in fase di progettazione. Dall’analisi del quartiere emerge la necessità di una visione che non alteri i già precari equilibri presenti tra le componenti di cui è costituito, bensì che instauri relazioni più stabili tra esse. Partendo da questo presupposto, sono stati concepiti i diversi interventi, cercando di ricucire quella che può essere definita una realtà frammentata, provando a concentrare l’attenzione sul tipo di relazione che va a generarsi tra i poli dispersi sul quartiere. Il disegno degli spazi, quindi, non è il fine ultimo del progetto, ma uno strumento operativo per potenziare le dinamiche esistenti e introdurne di nuove. Osservando l’area da vicino, sono emersi alcuni caratteri distintivi che hanno portato alla formulazione di eventuali temi progettuali, che corrispondono, nella pratica, a numerose azioni che agiscono sia in modo mirato all’interno di specifici contesti, che a grande scala rivolgendosi al quartiere nella sua interezza. Partire dai bisogni reali del quartiere, siano essi concreti o meno, e provare a semplificare e appiattire il meno possibile la realtà in questione, sono le strategie portate avanti lungo tutto il processo progettuale con l’intenzione di realizzare interventi efficaci dalla scala urbana a quella del dettaglio. Un ulteriore elemento, preso in considerazione durante lo svolgimento del progetto, è la necessità di mantenerlo aperto a sviluppi futuri, renderlo capace quindi di crescere con il quartiere ed evitare soluzioni concluse, facendo in modo che esse possano adattarsi a bisogni attuali e futuri.
