The aim of this work is to analyze the reactive mass’ behavior and, in particularly way, the radical polymerization reaction during the delicate phase in which the aforesaid "gel effect" occurs; this is obtained, through an experimental campaign on a laboratory pilot plant, which consists of a glass Reaction Calorimeter (Optimax), for the study of the precise conversion progress; this instrumentation allows us to extrapolate the parameters necessary for writing simplified models and mathematical laws that govern the “Gel Effect” phenomena, with the purposes of defining the process safety conditions. A part of these experimental tests will be used as a basis to define a parameter of empirical nature that characterizes the gel effect. This parameter validates the proposed model with the use of a second set of experimental data.

Abstract
This parameter validates the proposed model with the use of a second set of experimental data.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
