Historical themes, but also related to the development of desig between the Sixties and Seventies, to urban planning, to the analysis of territorial structures of the services, to the composition and construction technology, to the reuse of urban spaces, always connected to the production in painting, sculpture, graphics, literature, poetry, journalism, of the artist; disciplines that Ugo Guarino has investigated whit multiple forms of expression. From the post-war editorial products to satirical contributions in publications of the period, to the transfer, first to New York, whit the frequentations of the Andy Wharol Factory, then to Milan, whit the collaboration of "Corriere della Sera", and the commitment to the mental hospital and the relative redistribution of assistance services in the urban fabric, the artist frees use from the obsession of having to always have an answer, stimulating our feeling towards the need to ask ourselves, more and more questions.Ugo Guarino proves to be at the forefront in dealing whit the semiotics of the value of the object and of the sign with innovative investigations for the definition of a new conception of the production of design object, The essentiality of the graphic sign, make Ugo Guarino one of the greatest exponents of a visual journalism of strong emotional impact that characterizes the critical ability of the artist in dealing, not so much the object of the news, but the idea that has caused the dynamics, always represented in a sphere of empathic perception. Ugo Guarino: Architetto delle idee è una Tesi di Storia dell'Arte Contemporanea che indagando sulle svariate e poli-formiche attività dell'artista, tocca i temi fondamentali della disciplina dell'Architettura. Temi di taglio storico riferiti allo sviluppo del design tra gli anni Sessanta e Settanta, all'urbanistica, all'analisi degli assetti territoriali dei servizi, alla composizione e tecnologia costruttiva, fino al riuso di spazi urbani il tutto connesso alla produzione in pittura, scultura, grafica, letteratura, poesia, giornalismo dell'artista; discipline che Ugo Guarino ha indagato con molteplici forme espressive. Dai prodromi editoriali del dopoguerra, ai contributi satirici in pubblicazioni del periodo, al trasferimento, prima a New York, con le frequentazioni della Factory di Andy Wharol, poi a Milano, con la collaborazione al Corriere della Sera e con l'impegno per la dismissione dei manicomi e relativa redistribuzione dei servizi di assistenza nel tessuto urbanistico, l'artista ci libera dall'ossessione di dover avere sempre una risposta, stimolando il nostro sentire verso la necessità di porci sempre più domande.
