The development of an information system for the management of maintenance operations

This thesis aims to define an EAM enterprise asset management for the maintenance management of the case study of Solvay Specialty Polymers field. The first and second part provide all the necessary information for a full understanding of the processes involved, defining the principles of maintenance, the key aspects of Maintenance engineering and main aspect of the maintenance management. The third part describes the information systems, their role in the management of maintenance operations, the support of maintenance engineering and an overview of the advanced forms of automatic and remote maintenance. The fourth part explores the case study and presents all the steps followed for the implementation of an information system: the different modules, the maintenance management, the digital concept of work and the new future possible projects. In conclusion, I intend to show the advantages of an implementation of a specific maintenance information system.

Questa tesi mira a definire un EAM “Enterpise Asset Management” per la gestione della manutenzione riferita al caso studio del cantiere di Solvay Specialty Polymers. La prima e la seconda parte forniscono le informazioni necessarie per la piena comprensione dei processi coinvolti, definendo i principi di manutenzione, gli aspetti chiave dell'ingegneria della manutenzione e l'aspetto principale della gestione della manutenzione. La terza parte descrive i sistemi informativi, il loro ruolo nella gestione delle operazioni di manutenzione, nel supporto dell’igegneria di manutenzione ed una panoramica visione delle avanzate forme di manutenzione automatica e remota. La quarta parte esplora il caso studio e la presentazione di un sistema informativo: i diversi moduli, la gestione della manutenzione, la digitalizzazione del lavoro e i nuovi possibili progetti futuri. In conclusione, intendo mostrare i vantaggi ottenuti adottando un sistema informativo di manutenzione.
