Ptrera : un centro di ricerca nella campagna garganica

On the rough karst slopes of the Gargano Valley, a massive break between the expanses of olive groves of the Tavoliere delle Puglie and the consolidated fabric of the cities, rises the sharp volume of Ptrera. Ptrera wants to be the link between these two realities, physically and ideologically separated in space and time: city and rural area, modernity and tradition, a past that can become future. Ptrera is a container of information and skills for the development, protection and active conservation of the rural tradition that finds direct but far-sighted application in a business aggregator and in the research laboratories on olive growing techniques related to the cluster itself. A reference point for locals, bonded to their roots, and for those who find future in tradition. A seemingly solid and opaque mass, a punctual and isolated architecture within the rural system, that is fragmented into three opposing volumes on a central, more permeable and transparent cavity, and which establishes, through deep splits, a dialogue with the territory, starting point and last recipient of the entire design proposal.

Sulle scabre pendici carsiche dei Valloni garganici, massiva linea di cesura tra le distese di oliveti del Tavoliere delle Puglie e il tessuto consolidato delle città, sorge il tagliente volume di Ptrera. Ptrera vuole essere il collegamento tra queste due realtà divise fisicamente ed ideologicamente nello spazio e nel tempo: la città e la campagna, la modernità e la tradizione, un passato che può diventare futuro. Ptrera è un contenitore di informazioni e competenze per lo sviluppo, la tutela e la conservazione attiva della tradizione rurale che trovano diretta ma lungimirante applicazione nell’aggregatore di impresa e nei laboratori di ricerca sulle tecniche dell’olivicoltura ad esso legati.
