With progress of urbanization, buildings occupy most of the space in the city. In these buildings, most of them are made of heavy wall or façade that isolate the inside from the outside, the interior activities form the public activities. The buildings of a modern city are closed in somehow and completely distrusts the outside world. Everything tries to happen inside the building. This trend has caused a large number of opaque objects on the street, causing heavy shadows in the streets and worsening environment. In this museum project, the site is located in Tampere, the second largest city in Finland. Tampere is a typical Nordic city. The red brick, the stone and the wooden buildings can be seen in the unique urban style. . These buildings are exquisite and of historical value, but they are also closed and dark. There is not a good interaction between building and the city. I think it is time for the city to inject a new vitality, a kind of modern vitality based on the context. In history, architecture has always had a relationship with the context. But it is with real things, such as materials and forms. Today, most of our daily lives are related to the informational society. Although this informational society is not visible, I think that architecture must have some connection with it. We can list some of the characteristics of the feelings that the informational society brings to people, such as “light”, “thin”, “transparent”, “unreal”, “vague”, “convenient”, and “reachability”. If these characteristics are reflected in the building, what will happen? Therefore, in my opinion, in today's society, architecture should not be just a closed building. I am very interested in the ways of creating relations between the two sides, and I try to use some way to make the two parties less distinct and keep the two sides in touch. The boundary between the interior and exterior of the building should be uncertain and vague, and the activities within the building should become part of the urban activities in a certain way. At the same time, the city streets and urban activities will be involved in the interior of the building, so that the building and the city have a good interaction. I hope that the new museum will be open and accessible, and at the same time, it will be an extension of the urban streets and activities. When such a large amount of buildings are built up, the urban space will still maintain its open and continuous space in this way to discuss the architectural features in the information age.
Tutto cerca di accadere all'interno dell'edificio.
