This Ph.D. thesis has been organised with an introductive chapter describing the state of art concerning all the analysed topics. All the chapters can be seen as self-supporting projects and can be read autonomously, although they were grouped in two main topic areas: 1. An overview of the main chemical advantages exploited by the substituent effect. In particular, the gem-disubstitution effect (Chapter 2), the vic,vic-trimethyl lock effect (Chapter 3) and the vicinal effect (Chapter 4) were analysed together with their possible applications. 2. The ring-opening polymerisation (ROP) process, as an alternative polymerisation route, towards the synthesis of more “green” materials (Chapter 5) This work has been conducted at ETH Zurich and it is focused on the advantages of the ROP.

Abstract
This Ph.D. thesis has been organised with an introductive chapter describing the state of art concerning all the analysed topics. 2. The ring-opening polymerisation (ROP) process, as an alternative polymerisation route, towards the synthesis of more “green” materials (Chapter 5) This work has been conducted at ETH Zurich and it is focused on the advantages of the ROP.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
