Industry 4.0 principles and technologies are influencing all the different aspects of business processes: the aim of this master thesis is to analyse the influences of such revolution in logistics, that are translated in the so-called Logistics 4.0 scenario. More in detail, this thesis studies how material handling systems are evolving, with a focus on automated guided vehicles in a factory logistics environment. An in-depth literature review has been conducted on these topics, to explore all the different solutions and configurations that the researchers presented during the years. Based on the results of this review, a classification framework for automated guided vehicles has been developed, so that the solutions depicted in the scientific articles would be categorized on the basis of three main criteria: navigation technology, decision-making capabilities and communication level. A research on the solutions available on the market has been conducted in order to better understand which systems are practically applied by companies. Finally, a case study of a factory logistics system from a pharmaceutical company deals with the topics of Logistics 4.0 projected in a real application: in this case, the strong relationships between the logistics system and the manufacturing system are highlighted, in which some Industry 4.0 principles like automation and system and machines’ interconnection have been applied.

Abstract
Finally, a case study of a factory logistics system from a pharmaceutical company deals with the topics of Logistics 4.0 projected in a real application: in this case, the strong relationships between the logistics system and the manufacturing system are highlighted, in which some Industry 4.0 principles like automation and system and machines’ interconnection have been applied.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
