Artificial intelligence (AI), in a broad sense, is a branch of computer science that aims to create intelligent machines to perform specific tasks that currently require human intelligence to be accomplished, such as biometric recognition, language translation and moving autonomously in the environment. In the last decade, AI profoundly changed our daily lives by giving us the chance to reach information faster and by satisfying some of our needs without any discomfort. Organizations are benefitting from AI too, from finance to automotive sector, firms are discovering that will be crucial to adopt AI in their business activities to reduce costs, make processes more efficient and, consequently, bring more profitability. The relationship with customer and enterprises also starts to deepen as transactions and interactions tend to increase thanks to automatized processes that provide an opportunity to serve countless number of people at a time. In this context, the aim of the thesis is to analyse and present the artificial intelligence adoption cases. Particularly, the work represents the development phases of AI categories, business sectors and business processes on which AI imply the most influential impact through the analysis of a series of business cases launched by the most prestigious companies of the world that is in the Forbes 2000 list. The work was held in close co-operation with Observatory Artificial Intelligence of Politecnico di Milano. The final remark about the thesis is that adoption of AI in businesses are still at the early phase and mostly technological companies are the pioneers of the AI applications. However, as AI promises to increase market share, profit and revenue stream on respective industries, enterprises are expected to build their technological ecosystem in compliance with new AI standards and to train their employees with the aim of exploiting this new digital revolution.

Abstract
However, as AI promises to increase market share, profit and revenue stream on respective industries, enterprises are expected to build their technological ecosystem in compliance with new AI standards and to train their employees with the aim of exploiting this new digital revolution.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
