In this paper the dataset provided by OECD-WTO – BATIS (Balanced Trade In Services Statistics) is reviewed in both quantitative and qualitative way. For the purpose of quickly and with ease analysing the enormous amount of data a software architecture was developed and implemented that is described here. The focus of the analysis was on the trade networks created between countries that participate in trade in services. The amount traded in total for each kind of services is assessed as are the major trade flows between countries. All of them are analysed for each year of the dataset, pointing out trends of increasing or decreasing the trade in certain services and all the services as a whole. In order to understand better the networks themselves, network analysis is performed for all of them, considering the network as whole. The results help better understand the connectedness of the networks, their clustering characteristics and how they shift across the time period of the dataset. Furthermore, analysis is carried out for each of the countries in the network. This leads to a clearer view of the network, points out the important countries and to what aspect of the network are they with the highest importance. Analysing all the different networks created by the trade in different services helps to discover countries that are focused on certain type of services traded, countries that perform well in all of them, or countries that lag behind. After getting a better grasp of the trade in services, the focus is moved to the search of correlation between country specific indicators like GDP or GDP per capita and the importance of the country in every trade network. Finally, there is a comparison between the centrality of countries in the trade in goods and trade in services, certain observations are made connected with the importance of high value-added services for developing economies, the higher barriers to trade in services and if trade in goods precedes trade in services.

Abstract
In this paper the dataset provided by OECD-WTO – BATIS (Balanced Trade In Services Statistics) is reviewed in both quantitative and qualitative way. For the purpose of quickly and with ease analysing the enormous amount of data a software architecture was developed and implemented that is described here.
