The aim of the present study was to develop a multifunctional layer on titanium alloy, adapt to guarantee both osseointegration and bactericide capacity. A homogeneous hydroxyapatite layer was generated on titanium alloy by plasma spray application; secondly, ionic solution deposition (ISD) technique was performed to incorporate into hydroxyapatite a proper quantity of gallium promoting antibacterial effect.
L'obiettivo del lavoro ha riguardato lo sviluppo di un rivestimento multifunzionale, depositato su lega di titanio, tale da garantire sia osteointegrazione che effetto antibatterico. Attraverso tecnologie plasma spray e ISD, è stato depositato su titanio un rivestimento in idrossiapatite opportunamente modificato con gallio.
