This work aims at studying the structural response of an aggregate masonry building named “Il Torrione” and located in Arsita (Province of Teramo), which was damaged by the disastrous L’Aquila earthquake of April 6th, 2009. The structural behavior of this aggregate building is evaluated in accordance with the Italian provisions to assess its seismic vulnerability. Several types of analyses are carried out in this work to investigate this building’s behavior and, possibly, to provide some general remarks on the topic of “aggregate buildings”, which is still relatively unexplored. Hence, a series of LV1, pushover, and non-linear dynamic analyses are performed in this work. This building consists of four structural units; therefore, not only its global structural behavior is here investigated, but also the structural responses of the four units are addressed separately. In the latter case, each unit is studied considering different hypotheses of interconnection with the other units. This final part of the work aims at finding a possible correlation between their behavior and criteria to classify them.

Abstract
This final part of the work aims at finding a possible correlation between their behavior and criteria to classify them.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
