Abstract
The presence of insulated concrete form (ICF) ICF walls in RC (Reinforced Concrete) buildings is very common. However, and even today, in the design of new buildings and in the assessment of existing ones, these ICF walls are usually considered as non-structural elements and their influence in the structural response is generally ignored. For horizontal loading, ICF walls can drastically modify the response, attracting forces to parts of the structure that have not been designed to resist them. This master thesis work aims to show the effects of ICF walls in contribution with Green roof on seismic and environmentally behavior of reinforced concrete framed structures. A general overview of the ICF walls and Green roofs present in literature is discussed and a state of the art of main structural and environmental identification issues involving these elements is presented. An experimental test on a full-scale ICF flat wall carried out by NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) Research Center, Inc for structural assessment of the Joint research center of the USA commission, and then described in detail. The calibration of the ICF model force-displacement response able to verify test result by making use of walls stiffness modifier approach is described. After the seismic validation of the numerical models Results of additional 3D environmentally and push over analyses will be presented,| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
