Internet of Things & Logistics 4.0 state of the art of the smart logistics

A world where the real, digital and the virtual are converging to create smart environments that make energy, transport, cities and many other areas more intelligent. The internet of things or IoT makes this world real. One of the IoT far-reaching benefits is addressed to logistics operators and their business customers and end consumers. These benefits widen across the entire logistics value chain, comprising warehousing operations, freight transportation, and last-mile delivery. Moreover, they have considerable effects on areas such as operational efficiency, safety and security, customer experience, and new business models. The project work has a purpose to explain the state of the art of the Smart Logistics as a consequence of IoT applications in logistics. In order to do this, it is crucial the mapping the different solutions proposed on the global market, taking into consideration numerous areas of application from both of demand and supply point of view. Through various analyses on the collected data it was possible to determine the current status of the present and future trends of Smart Logistics industry globally. Subsequently, to have an overall picture, the main countries at European and international level were taken into consideration, in order to elaborate a critical analysis of the Smart Logistics market.

Successivamente, per avere un quadro generale, sono stati presi in considerazione i principali paesi a livello europeo e internazionale, al fine di elaborare un'analisi critica del mercato Smart Logistics.
