3D printing and LED lighting are technologies in continuous development and diffusion. Their attractiveness is due to the many advantages brought in many application sectors and a growing number of designers are relying on these technologies for the development of new products. Lately we are also witnessing a widespread integration between the two technologies in the Lighting field. Thanks to the adaptability of the LEDs and the formal flexibility of the products made with 3D printing, it is now possible to create innovative and formally unusual lamps and luminaires. This integration gives the opportunity to design products with complex geometries that can only be reproduced with additive manufacturing and lit with hidden and iridescent micro-sources. The thesis that we propose here, starting from the analysis briefly described above, has as its object the integration between the two technologies and the realization of a luminous device to which we have given the name of IRIS. This device re-proposes the formal features of an human iris made with a 3D printed texture. The device is also able to modulate its luminous chromatic tonality according to the interaction of the user who uses sophisticated electronic devices now easily available on the market.

Abstract
The device is also able to modulate its luminous chromatic tonality according to the interaction of the user who uses sophisticated electronic devices now easily available on the market.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
