Public libraries are services from centuries of history spread throughout the world, but very often they are considered only as containers of books no longer in line with modern times. Actually these realities are going through an evolution and are transforming themselves from silent places of study, into squares of knowledge, populated by citizens ready to live and share an intellectual and experiential growth. Within this new vision of library we find the LibLab project, which led five heterogeneous work groups, composed of librarians, designers and cultural mediators, to design innovative services for a new citizenship, using the Design Thinking methodology to realize services with and for users. This work emphasized the importance of designing services dedicated to foreign citizens, given the growing number of immigrants present in Europe and Italy, so that they can acquire and improve their language skills to better integrate into our society. The Speak project offers three different services that encourage the learning and the practice of Italian by foreign people with different levels of competence, as well as the meeting and socialization between Italian and foreign citizens through fun and informal activities.

Abstract
The Speak project offers three different services that encourage the learning and the practice of Italian by foreign people with different levels of competence, as well as the meeting and socialization between Italian and foreign citizens through fun and informal activities.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
