Redivivo. La seconda vita del frammento

The main objective of this research, which has then accompanied the entire analysis process and the subsequent design of the temporary exhibition, was to narrate and reveal a metaphor for contemporary life, through works of art. "Redivivo: la seconda vita del frammento" wants to demonstrate, through the artistic voice, how, contrary to what is commonly thought, a broken form can actually be redeemed and reborn from the collapse, and therefore from ruins. Death generates new life, rebirth. And it is through many artists’ sensitivity that all this comes to life. Artists saw in the fragment, in tiny part of a whole, in the scrap and in the lump, a real metaphor of eternal life, but above all of resurrection. Therefore, pieces of art are a strong and concise demonstration of how a life cycle does not simply end with the death of the object, but how it is precisely through its shattering that the organism is really free to revive once again. The mended artifact is the proof of its second life, and therefore of a further granted possibility; its surface is often ruined, but the signs of time are the true beauty of the medicated object. Artists firmly believe in what is the smallest and apparently useless thing: a fragment, an incomplete part that can return to shine thanks to the wise hands of those who go beyond appearances, even if in contrast with what normally society excludes and refuses. Imperfection is thus the true work of art.

L’intenzione di partenza della ricerca, che poi ha accompagnato tutto il percorso di analisi e la successiva progettazione dell’esposizione temporanea, è stata quella di raccontare e rivelare, attraverso le opere d’arte, una metafora della contemporaneità. “Redivivo: la seconda vita del frammento”, vuole così dimostrare, attraverso la voce dell’arte, come, al contrario di ciò che comunemente si pensa, dal crollo, e quindi dalla rovina, possa in realtà avvenire il riscatto e la rinascita di un organismo rotto. La morte genera una nuova vita, una rinascita. Ed è proprio attraverso la sensibilità di molti artisti, che tutto ciò prende vita. Essi hanno intravisto nel frammento, ovvero l’infima parte di un tutto, nello scarto e nel frantume, una vera e propria metafora di vita eterna, ma soprattutto di resurrezione. Le opere d’arte, quindi, sono una forte e concisa dimostrazione di come un processo di vita non si fermi semplicemente alla morte dell’oggetto, ma come in realtà sia proprio attraverso la sua frantumazione che l’oggetto è realmente libero di rivivere, ancora. Il manufatto ricucito è la dimostrazione di una sua seconda vita, e quindi di una ulteriore possibilità concessagli; la sua superficie risulta molto spesso rovinata, ma proprio i segni del tempo sono la vera bellezza del frantume medicato. Gli artisti hanno fermamente creduto in ciò che di più piccolo ed apparentemente inutile ci possa essere: un frammento, una parte incompleta che può ritornare a risplendere grazie alle mani sagge di chi riesce ad andare oltre le apparenze, contrastando anche ciò che normalmente, purtroppo, la società esclude e rifiuta. L’imperfetto è così la vera opera d’arte.
