Jean Nouvel. Architetto del contesto

How did the idea of a monographic exhibition on Jean Nouvel come about? There are many things that brought me to this project, my personal story first. I am Italian-French, growing between a continuous dialogue between the two cultures. After years of study in Milan, I decided to spend the last semester of my degree course in Paris. There I could experience the difference of points of view regarding creativity, the interpretation of the role of design in society, the importance given to architecture and the visibility given to it. This experience led me to want to create a dialogue between these two realities that belong to me. My intention with this exhibition is to create a bridge between France and Italy, to let people know how another country invests and sees architecture. The best representative of this project could only be Jean Nouvel.The interaction between architecture and the person is one of the key point on which the exhibition is based, creating a dialogue between the architectures and layout. The issues addressed refer to the architect's style and recurrent concepts. The purpose of this exhibition is to bring visitors closer to Nouvel's ideas and to create a new vision of contemporary architecture out of the ordinary criterion

Come nasce l’idea di una mostra monograifca su Jean Nouvel? Ci sono molte cose che mi hanno portata a questo progetto, la mia storia personale prima di tutto. Sono italo-francese, crescuta tra un continuo dialogo tra le due culture. Dopo anni di studio a Milano, ho deciso di passare l’ultimo semestre del mio corso di laurea a Parigi. Lì ho potuto vivere la differenza di punti di vista per quanto riguarda la creatività, l’interpretazione del ruolo del design nella società, l’importanza che viene data all’architettura e la visibilità che gli viene data. Questa esperienza mi ha portato a voler creare un ponte tra queste due realtà che mi appartengono. La mia intenzione con questa mostra è quella di creare una reciprocità tra francia e italia, per far conoscere come un altro paese investe e vede l’architettura. Il miglior rappresentante di questo progetto non poteva che essere Jean Nouvel. L’interazione tra architettura e persona è uno dei punti cardine su cui si fonda la mostra, creando un dialogo tra le architetture prese in analisi e l’allestimento. Le tematiche affrontate fanno riferimento allo stile e ai concetti ricorrenti dell’architetto. Il fine di questa esposizione è quello di far avvicinare i visitatori alle idee di Nouvel e creare una nuova visione dell’architettura contemporanea fuori dai canoni ordinari.
