Sulle orme del fiume Seveso : riqualificazioen del quartiere Niguarda

From datas and the testimonies of the inhabitants of the Niguarda district, there is a lack of cohesion within the neighborhood, and a serious problem of flooding of the Seveso river. In the coming years the problem will be almost completely solved but without exploiting its potential. The project aims to exploit this negativity and make it a strength of the neighborhood, combining both the demands of the inhabitants and the design needs. Starting from the creation of a residence for students that will be inserted into the building of via Demonte, wich is the subject of a municipal call that specifies the request for different housing for students, passing through a green axis accompanied by a process of water purification which will make possible to obtain clean water for the last part of the project, that is the garage located in Via Padre Luigi Monti, inside which an urban farm will be insert with direct sales and the possibility of refreshment and eating. The whole project will be made unique and recognizable by the orange, a symbol of creativity and present both as a sign on the ground and in the color of street furniture.

Dai dati e dalle testimonianze degli abitanti del quartiere Niguarda si evince una mancanza di coesione all’interno del quartiere, ed un grave problema di esondazione del fiume Seveso. Nei prossimi anni il problema verrà quasi del tutto risolto ma senza sfruttarne però il potenziale. Il progetto si pone come obbiettivo quello di sfruttare questa negatività e renderla un punto di forza del quartiere, unendo sia le richieste degli abitanti, sia le necessità progettuali. Partendo dalla realizzazione di una residenza per studenti che andrà a inserirsi all’interno dell’edificio di via Demonte, oggetto di un bando comunale che specifica la richiesta di diversi alloggi per studenti, passando per un asse verde corredato da un processo di fitodepurazione delle acque che permetterà di ottenere acqua pulita per l’ultima parte del progetto ovvero l’ex autorimessa di via Padre Luigi Monti, all’interno della quale verrà inserita un orto urbano con vendita diretta e possibilità di ristoro e relax. Tutto il progetto verrà reso univoco e riconoscibile tramite il colore arancione, simbolo di creatività e presente sia come segno a terra, sia nel colore dell’arredo urbano.
