In un attimo

The instant, according to the common language, indicates a momentary and transient time, impossible to hold long. It is a temporal aspect which, by its nature, escapes the control of man, who tries in every way to force and trap the passage of time. The daily challenge of men against this flow of time, to enjoy as long as possible the essence of the moments he lives, gives the instant a negative meaning that reflects its fragility. The aim of this research is to analyse the various positive meanings that the term “instant” can have in our everyday life. This moment will be explored in various aspects through an analysis of contemporary art and design works. This research contains a set of artistic works that become the starting point for the design of spaces aimed at telling how even a fleeting and momentary instant can become eternal, if lived up to the last second.

L’attimo, secondo il linguaggio comune, indica un tempo momentaneo e fugace, impossibile da trattenere a lungo. È un aspetto temporale che, per sua natura, sfugge al controllo dell’uomo, il quale prova in ogni modo a costringere e intrappolare il passare del tempo. La sfida quotidiana dell’uomo contro questo scorrere, per godere il più a lungo possibile dell’essenza dei momenti che vive, attribuisce all’attimo un’accezione negativa che riflette la sua fragilità. L’obiettivo di questa ricerca è di analizzare le svariate accezioni positive che può assumere il termine “attimo” nella nostra quotidianità. L'istante sarà indagato sotto diversi aspetti tramite un'analisi delle opere di arte contemporanea e di design. Questa ricerca contiene un insieme di lavori artistici che diventano il punto di partenza per la progettazione di spazi mirati a raccontare come anche un attimo fugace e momentaneo può diventare eterno, se vissuto fino all’ultimo secondo.
