Imagine if Tehran were green

I choose the city “Tehran”- the capital of Iran- not only because it is my hometown, but also because it is challenging to create a public space in a country that politically and legally is against it. I am hoping that the solution that my project gives, can be a starting point to help the city to achieve accepts of social life that is missing from their lives . After the Islamic revolution in Iran, there are lots of building that are left and become abandoned, most of them are seized by government and some of them are under the control of the municipality. As Tehran is loosing the historical parts and characteristic building of the city and people are loosing collective and individual memories; I decided to use these building -as I named abandoned for my thesis project. In the following I will expand these issues. Tehran with more than 14 million people population during day time, suffers from severe massive traffic congestion in far-fetched rush hours. In my comparative and comprehensive research I found out that the city is loosing green area so fast and because of high density of construction, Tehran is suffering from lack of space. My main idea is to insert small public spaces and green spaces to the abandoned building that are built already and occupy the city spaces and belong to collective memory of residents of Tehran.

Ho scelto la città “Teheran” - la capitale di Iran-non solo perché è la mia città natale, ma anche perché è impegnativo per creare uno spazio pubblico in un paese che politicamente e giuridicamente è contro di essa. Spero che la soluzione che il mio progetto mi offre possa essere un punto di partenza per aiutare la città a raggiungere una vita sociale che manca nelle loro vite. Dopo la rivoluzione islamica in Iran, ci sono un sacco di costruzione che sono di sinistra e diventare abbandonati, la maggior parte di loro sono sequestrati dal governo e alcuni di loro sono sotto il controllo del comune. Mentre Tehran sta perdendo le parti storiche e l’edificio caratteristico della città e le persone stanno perdendo ricordi collettivi e individuali; Ho deciso di utilizzare questi edifici, che ho chiamato abbandonato per il mio progetto di tesi. Di seguito espanderò questi problemi. Teheran con più di 14 milioni di persone in un giorno soffre di ingenti congestioni del traffico in ore di punta improbabili. Nella mia ricerca comparativi ed esaurienti ho scoperto che la città sta perdendo spazio verde così veloce e causa della alta densità di costruzione, Teheran soffre di mancanza di spazio. La mia idea principale è quella di inserire piccoli spazi pubblici e spazi verdi per l’edificio abbandonato che sono costruiti già e occupare gli spazi della città e appartengono alla memoria collettiva dei residenti di Teheran
