Frame by frame animation, or cel animation, is a technique that requires very long production times: the illusion of movement is given by the hand-drawing of the individual frames that compose the action and is not processed by software as in the case of motion graphics. By its nature, cel animation is therefore an expensive tool not available to everyone, used only by the few animators who have investigated the principles and who operate in a particularly restricted working environment. During this paper is explored the possibility of changing this context and transforming cel animation into an opportunity for motion designers. Analizing the history, characteristics and possibilities of the motion design market, a system proposal is elaborated based on the modularization of cel animation. The result is the definition of design guidelines able to bring animated content in cel animation to the toolkit of every motion designer.

Abstract
The result is the definition of design guidelines able to bring animated content in cel animation to the toolkit of every motion designer.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
