By considering the advanced phase of migration where the stranger (Amin, 2012) migrant is searching for an affordable home and for rootedness in the city, the research aims at investigating the public housing offer for the Arab migrants who are willing to stay in Milan. The work also projects the individual housing pathways and housing perspectives of interviewed Arabs towards the domestic space, common spaces and neighborhood around several social housing projects in Milan. The aim is to understand the origin and meaning behind varied housing practices across the diverse Arabs. As well as to reflect on what kind of needs and disadvantages they might experience in the new environment of social housing. Thus, the current social housing premises managed by Dar Casa third sector organization become the set for the contextualization of the urban research.
