A nouvelle boucle verte pour la ville de Paris

The thesis aims to redevelop the Petite Ceinture, a disused railway line of Paris, converting it into an urban park that surrounds the city. Following the analysis of the area identified between the Petite Ceinture and the Boulevard Périphérique, which constitutes the outer ring road of Paris, it emerges how the area between these two margins is rich in socio-cultural, historical and landscape interest, highlighting the strong potential of the Parisian "edge". The analysis on the Petite Ceinture highlights how an indelible trace of the past, rises with red brick embankments, crosses the streets with steel bridges, open trench excavations until it disappears in long tunnels in the bowels of the city. The project is aimed at giving new life to a place that at present appears to be neglected, proposing different solutions depending on the morphological and typological characteristics that the Petite Ceinture takes along its path, in order to create a circular system of spaces alternate between pedestrian paths, urban gardens, recreational areas and panoramic rest areas. The intervention is therefore aimed at reconverting the entire margin, opening prospects of transformation for the future aimed at defining a new "Ring Belt" that functions as a green filter between Paris and its periphery, capable of generating a complex system of parks and tree-lined avenues.

La tesi ha come obiettivo la riqualifica della Petite Ceinture, una linea ferroviaria dismessa di Parigi, convertendola in un parco urbano che cinge la città. A seguito dell’analisi sulla fascia individuata tra la Petite Ceinture e la Boulevard Périphérique, che costituisce la circonvallazione esterna di Parigi, emerge come l’area compresa tra questi due margini, sia ricca di interesse socio-culturale, storico e paesaggistico mettendo in evidenza il forte potenziale del “bordo” parigino. L’analisi sulla Petite Ceinture evidenzia come una traccia indelebile del passato, si sollevi con terrapieni in mattoni rossi, scavalchi le strade con ponti in acciaio, scavi trincee a cielo aperto fino a scomparire in lunghe gallerie nelle viscere della città. Il progetto è rivolto a dare nuova vita ad un luogo che allo stato attuale risulta essere trascurato, proponendo differenti soluzioni a seconda dei caratteri morfologici e tipologici che la Petite Ceinture assume lungo il suo tracciato, al fine di creare un sistema circolare di spazi che si alternano tra percorsi pedonali, orti urbani, aree ludiche e aree di sosta panoramiche. L’intervento è dunque finalizzato alla riconversione dell’intero margine, aprendo prospettive di trasformazione per il futuro volte alla definizione di un nuovo “Ring Belt” che funzioni come filtro verde tra Parigi e la sua periferia, in grado di generare un sistema complesso di parchi e viali alberati.
