Copenhagen reveals its soul divided in two; on the one hand the northern dimension, town of fishermen with cold colors, on the other the desire to rise again from the great fires suffered with the need to feel closer to continental Europe, rebuilding baroque and neoclassical buildings. The thesis starts from the desire to analyze some of the architectural elements through a redesign of the key components of the city that, when viewed individually, seem to be unique while all in all they denote a certain degree of redundancy and formal overlapping. In 1994 the photographer Versluis and the profiler Uyttenbroek did an experiment, “Exactitudes”, putting together portraits of Dutch gabbers and highlighting the ease of creating subfamilies with identical looks by demonstrating that the differences between those who want to stand out are increasingly fragile and that the singularity is a mere utopia. In 2012, the Brazilian photographer Dass gives life to another project called “Humanae”, driven by the need to demonstrate the absurdity of talking about the chromatic taxonomy of human skin as an element of discrimination with a series of photographs that shall seek chromatic uniqueness by supporting the aid of PANTONE ® code universally acknowledged as a unique color decoder. The project gathers these assumptions for the definition of the characteristics of an urban plot that reflects some of the canons of the “Copenhagen-ity” in a modern way at Larsens Plads in a point of the waterfront that is the head of the promenade that begins in the harbor near the Nyhavnh heading towards the statue of the Little Mermaid looking out on the Opera house. Color, used to catalog the elements analyzed by the study of the city together with natural light, a filter and an integral part of Danish architecture, are the keys to understand the atmosphere and the specificity of the place in order to reflect the Danish lifestyle, centered on the “hygge”, on enjoying every moment in the home environment.
Copenhagen-ity. The attitude of the city through its atmospheres, colours and shapes into the design of a new urban plot in Larsens plads, within the waterfront of Copenhagen

Abstract
Color, used to catalog the elements analyzed by the study of the city together with natural light, a filter and an integral part of Danish architecture, are the keys to understand the atmosphere and the specificity of the place in order to reflect the Danish lifestyle, centered on the “hygge”, on enjoying every moment in the home environment.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
