Inside-outside the mountain. Promozione e valorizzazione della Val di Rabbi

The thesis is focused on the Rabbi Valley area and wants to be a promoter of a mountain area to enhance the environment in which it is found in a sustainable manner. The first part of the thesis analyzes the territory in all its various aspects, to know the peculiarities that characterize it and make it unique. The environmental system and the socio-economic system at the macro-regional level have been taken into consideration to then specifically analyze the environment, accessibility, transformations and the built-up area of Rabbi. The potential and criticalities emerged at the end of the analysis on the valley have allowed to make a critical balance that has focused attention on the historical tourist vocation of the valley: curative thermalism. With particular attention to sustainable tourism, which is in contrast to that of the neighboring valleys, a system of project that can use the environmental potential of the valley to be able to promote and reactivate abandoned buildings in the historic centers of Rabbi. The project system further subdivides the thesis; on the one hand we find the design of the new building of the Terme di Rabbi and on the other the feasibility project of a historic village, conceived as a receptive area that can enhance the historical features and the identity of the territory in its entirety.

La tesi si è concentrata sul territorio della Val di Rabbi e vuole essere promotrice di un’area montana per valorizzare l’ambiente in cui si trova in maniera sostenibile. La prima parte della tesi analizza il territorio in tutti i suoi vari aspetti, per conoscerne le peculiarità che lo caratterizzano e che lo rendono unico. Sono stati presi in considerazione il sistema ambientale e il sistema socio-economico a livello macro regionale per poi analizzare nello specifico l’ambiente, l’accessibilità, le trasformazioni e l’edificato di Rabbi. Le potenzialità e criticità emerse al termine delle analisi sulla valle hanno permesso di fare un bilancio critico che ha focalizzato l’attenzione sulla vocazione turistica storica della valle: il termalismo curativo. Con la particolare attenzione al turismo sostenibile, che è in contrapposizione a quello delle valli limitrofe, si è pensato a un sistema di progetto che possa utilizzare il potenziale ambientale della valle per poter promuovere e riattivare gli edifici abbandonati presenti nei centri storici di Rabbi. Il sistema di progetto suddivide ulteriormente la tesi; da una parte troviamo la progettazione del nuovo edificio delle Terme di Rabbi e dall’altra il progetto di fattibilità di un borgo storico, pensato come zona ricettiva che possa valorizzare le caratteristiche storiche e l’identità del territorio in tutta la sua totalità.
