Abstract
In the last two decades the world of wine and that of contemporary architecture have built a relationship of affinity that led to different realizations, both efficient and rich of charm and poetry. Perrin Family, considered as one of the best wine producers in Côte du Rhône, has felt the need to give their winery a new shape, that should be the expression of the identity of the territory and of their long traditions in wine making. Right now Château de Baucastel, located a few kilometers from Orange, in the heart of Châteaneuf-du-Pape, is configured as a productive organism, that presents different levels of criticality, both from an architectural and functional point of view. The projectual strategy looks forward to solving the different problems with the development of themes got from the tradition of the territory, so that the winery can become a mirror of it, perfectly integrated and recalling the belonging to a terroir so strongly characterized. Starting from the obsessively regular measure with which the wines are planted around the winery, going through the enclosure, arriving at the materials that compose the volumes and the perimetrical wall, the winery recalls the figure of a fortified citadel, both from the point of view of the image and that of the functional meaning. The project aims to be not only a functional place but also the occasion of socialization and formation. The specific needs of the production have led the project towards the composition of the underground space, the main character of the winery, which is articulated in volumes at different levels, constituting the conceptual and compositive overturning of the buildings on ground level, which have a constant height: this way the difference but also the compenetration of two different worlds is underlined.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
