Cargo-pack student house. Modular design for the future flight industry

In the more and more globalizing world, not only economy but also architecture is highly affected. With the living space becoming smaller and harder to find each day; and the population density radically growing in big cities, new ideas of housing is needed for the changing society. Every educational capital, such as Milan and Ankara, experience a growth in the number of foreign students and fail to provide sufficient affordable housing. This is caused by many factors, two of which can be stated as limited places offered by university dormitories or student hotels and rising rents of these cities due to high demand. The aim of this thesis is to provide lightweight portable shelter; for students that study abroad and struggle to find affordable houses. The house is designed in a way that it can be loaded onto a cargo plane so that the student will be able to transport it to any city he desires to finish his studies, internship, exhange, etc. The house is constructed by aluminum and polypropylene honeycomb panels, and will have a final area of 8 m² which makes it very lightweight and easy to transport. The interior consist of a folding bed and desk, a kitchen and a bathroom including shower, that is very convenient for a single student. The common structure designed to host the houses will be using the lost spaces within the cities, close to the university campuses, such as outdoor car parks in the case of cities with a high use of cars. The structure allows the houses to form a student village above the cars and create not only shelter, but also social interaction between the students who are away from their homes. The end result creates a green student village, that can adapt to any context and constantly transform according to the coming and going students. The thesis aims to propose a new living concept that is inspired by Yona Friedman as well as Archigram and Metabolists.

Nel mondo sempre più globalizzato, non solo l'economia, ma anche l'architettura è fortemente influenzata. Con lo spazio vitale sempre più piccolo e difficile da trovare ogni giorno; e la densità di popolazione che cresce radicalmente nelle grandi città, nuove idee di alloggio sono necessarie per la società che cambia. Ogni capitale educativo, come Milano e Ankara, sperimenta una crescita del numero di studenti stranieri e non riesce a fornire alloggi a prezzi accessibili sufficienti. Questo è causato da molti fattori, due dei quali possono essere indicati come posti limitati offerti da dormitori universitari o hotel per studenti e rendite crescenti di queste città a causa della forte domanda. Lo scopo di questa tesi è di fornire un riparo portatile leggero; per studenti che studiano all'estero e lottano per trovare case a prezzi accessibili. La casa è progettata in modo tale da poter essere caricata su un piano di carico in modo che lo studente sia in grado di trasportarla in qualsiasi città desideri terminare i suoi studi, tirocinio, scambio, ecc. La casa è costruita in alluminio e polipropilene pannelli a nido d'ape e avrà una superficie finale di 8 m² che lo rende molto leggero e facile da trasportare. L'interno è composto da un letto pieghevole e scrivania, una cucina e un bagno con doccia, che è molto conveniente per un singolo studente. La struttura comune progettata per ospitare le case utilizzerà gli spazi smarriti all'interno delle città, vicino ai campus universitari, come i parcheggi esterni nel caso di città con un elevato utilizzo di automobili. La struttura consente alle case di formare un villaggio studentesco sopra le auto e creare non solo un riparo, ma anche l'interazione sociale tra gli studenti che sono lontani dalle loro case. Il risultato finale crea un villaggio studentesco verde, che può adattarsi a qualsiasi contesto e trasformarsi costantemente in base agli studenti che vanno e vengono. La tesi mira a proporre un nuovo concetto di vita ispirato a Yona Friedman e ad Archigram e Metabolists.
