More and more cities are becoming collage cities, however, more like lost cites. Architects cannot find regulations of urban environment as reference to design new projects, and this situation accelerate the speed of cities getting lost. As the most important parts of a city, monumental buildings always influence and even control the urban environment and context in relative longer period. Therefore, in this thesis, we studied how to design monumental buildings in collage and lost cities so that the urban environment could be more familiar to citizens on one hand, and provide a sense of glory to them on the other hand. And the most important, how to use monumental buildings to keep the characteristics and special urban atmosphere of cities.
