Vertical connection. Moscow metro : interchange node Ryazanskaya

In the last few years Moscow metro shows considerable growth. Only in 2018 14 new stations were opened for public use. Moreover, one more circle line is now under construction. The expansion of the Moscow underground web creates important intersections between its parts. One of this big points is Ryazanskaya Interchange Node which is located to the East of the historical center of Moscow. Three different types of transport lines cross here: - metro (new); - railway (reopening); - urban train (existing). The project is concentrated on the connection between all three transport parts and on the creation of the grand space, respecting the rich cultural heritage of metro architecture of the Soviet period. Considering the importance of the grand space in Soviet architecture, the main idea of the project is to put the intersection points into a big volume closed outside and opened inside to provide the wide area for the great spectacle of the movement of people and transport. Clear geometrical forms and regularity are used for constructing the composition of the project, refering ideas of Russian Constructivism and Suprematism.

Negli ultimi anni la metropolitana di Mosca ha mostrato una considerevole crescita. Solo nel 2018 14 nuove stazioni sono state aperte al pubblico. Inoltre, un'altra linea circolare è in costruzione. L'espansione della metropolitana di Mosca crea importanti intersezioni tra le sue parti. Uno di questi grandi punti è il nodo di interscambio di Ryazanskaya che è localizzato a est dello storico centro di Mosca. Tre differenti tipi di trasporto l'attraversano: -una metropolitana (nuova); - ferrovia (riapertura); - treno urbano (esistente). Il progetto si concentra sulla connessione tra tutti e tre i tipi di trasporto e sulla creazione di una grande spazio, rispettando la ricca eredità culturale dell'architettura metropolitana del periodo sovietico. Considerando l'importanza del grande spazio nell'architettura sovietica, l'idea principale del progetto era quella di concentrare in questo punto di intersezione un grande volume chiuso all'esterno e aperto al'interno in modo da servire in modo spettacolare il grande movimento di persone e mezzi di trasporto. Forme dalla geometrie chiare e regolari sono usate nella costruzione della composizione del progetto, facendo riferimento alle idee del Costruttivismo e Suprematismo Russo.
