Tra la terra e il mare, un museo in sequenza lungo il crinale del Magnan

The project is made of three buildings: the first one is linear, built on the tombed stretch of the Magnan river closest to the sea, the other two, more compact, located at two heights in the continental area of Nice. Despite the fact that the three museums are all developed in section, they present very different characteristics, in relation to the area in which they are inserted. The south-facing museum works with two fundamental elements, namely the sea and the dense urban fabric. The other two buildings, on the other hand, are born in a profoundly different context, characterized by a sparse building fabric, a territory characterized by reliefs and depressions and by dense and flourishing vegetation. The two areas are connected by the Boulevard de La Madeleine which, crossed starting from the sea in a northerly direction, allows to observe the thinning out of the building settlements that give way to a deeply natural territory.

Il progetto si compone di tre musei tra la costa e l'entroterra nizzardo: il primo di forma lineare, costruito sul tratto tombato del fiume Magnan più vicino al mare, gli altri due, di forma più compatta, posti in corrispondenza di due alture situate nell’area continentale di Nizza. Nonostante i tre manufatti si sviluppino tutti in sezione, essi presentano caratteristiche molto diverse, in relazione all’area in cui sono inseriti. Il museo posto a sud lavora con due elementi fondamentali ovvero il mare e il tessuto urbano denso. Gli altri due corpi edilizi nascono invece in un contesto profondamente diverso, contraddistinto da un tessuto edilizio rado, un territorio caratterizzato da rilievi e avvallamenti e da una vegetazione fitta e lussureggiante. A legare due ambiti così diversi vi è il Boulevard de La Madeleine che, attraversato partendo dal mare in direzione nord permette di osservare il diradarsi degli insediamenti edilizi che lasciano il posto ad un territorio profondamente naturale.
