Abstract
The project starts from the willingness to examine leisure time forms in today’s society and from the need to transform them into architectural space. The site is a former pottery factory in Laveno Mombello; this represents the very often and emblematic phenomenon of the so called “post-industrial era”, that is the disposal of the industrial plant. We are approaching the historical moment where the industrial wall remains, symbol of that industrial era in wich lesiure time estabilished itself, are making room for leisure and entrateinment time. Leisure time has always changed in stap with the society: starting from latin “otium”, to modern “loisir”, but what is the meaning of leisure time in our days? How can architecture keep up with the need of a social and formal modernization? Leisure time grows more and more such us the need to understand its ways of use to know how to deal with the time of the new millenium. Hence, the cue and the opportunity to transform the factory in a leisure time hub, according to lavanese society’s needs and suggesting a participated project. The draft is made by three steps: the context analysis and its offers, a cognitive investigation about citizen’s demands and at last the design of a concept suited to the surveys. The project is made by three meìain “systems” that has a costant dialogue with the context designing a real leisure time hub including different activities such as cultural ones, meeting points and sport facilities. Area’s regeneration strategy takes account of different territorial needs and suggests an activation by different phases till the fully completed status.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
