Residenze per studenti. La casa di passaggio

This thesis investigates fundamental issues of urban, residential and service planning within university campuses. Through this design research I try to face the contemporary society that is characterized by the speed with which it transforms itself and advances. The continuing desire to improve is strong and therefore the living standards are constantly changing, guaranteeing constant research in city models and in housing models, reaching solutions that are increasingly suitable for the needs. Specifically, the project area is located on the university campus in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is located right on a limit, where the urban fabric ends and the natural river landscape begins. The need for this project derives from the insufficiency of infrastructures and necessary functions, and from the fact that the urban limit does not yet have a clear definition, rather it is abandoned to itself. The goal is to define this limit by providing new services for students and for the campus, but also to define it through a succession of spaces that establish new relationships.

Questa tesi investiga tematiche fondamentali della progettazione urbana, residenziale e di servizi all’interno dei campus universitari. Attraverso questa ricerca progettuale cerco di far fronte alla società contemporanea che è caratterizzata dalla velocità con cui essa stessa si trasforma ed avanza. La voglia continua di migliorarsi è forte e quindi gli standard di vita sono in continuo mutamento garantendo una costante ricerca in modelli di città e in modelli abitativi, giungendo a soluzioni sempre più idonee alle necessità. Nello specifico l’area di progetto si trova nel campus universitario di Buenos Aires, in Argentina ed è situata proprio su un limite, dove finisce il tessuto urbano e inizia il paesaggio naturale fluviale. La necessità di questo progetto deriva dall’insufficienza di infrastrutture e funzioni necessarie, e dal fatto che il limite urbano non ha tutt’oggi una definizione chiara, anzi è abbandonato a se stesso. L’obbiettivo è quello definire questo limite fornendo nuovi servizi per gli studenti e per il campus, ma anche quello di definirlo attraverso una successione di spazi che stabiliscono nuove relazioni.
