Syncytium. New needs, new housing

Syncytium: a single cell containing multiple nuclei... multiple cells join togeter while maintaining their nuclei but share a single outer membrane. The 21st century is characterized by sudden changes in which speed is the dominant factor in daily life accompanied by the disintegration of the family, strong pollution and instability. At the same time, the ageing of the population characterises all the more developed ations. In this scenario, the weaker sections of the population, such as the elderly, the disabled and young people/young couples need a new housing proposal that reflects their needs: living spaces with a smaller surface, with a high domestic quality, the possibility of easy interpersonal exchanges and common spaces to be easily accessed and in which to interact. The project developed in Milan Lambrate in via Pietro Andrea Saccardo proposes a new housing concept evolving the concept of the typical Milanese house (“casa di ringhiera”) in a residential complex that interprets the needs of this category of users. The building interacts with the neighborhood through a public courtyard, a ground floor used for commercial purposes and with the transformation of Via Saccardo into a shared street to be used by pedestrians, cars, bicycles, buses and all, that articulates and connects the urban spaces, the square, the market, the playground and the forest / parking, through a new common pavement. This area is one of the accesses to the city of Milan so the presence of the railway is a main feature for the project defining the aesthetics because of the need to mitigate the noise pollution of trains and trams t that adds to the noise pollution of the road. These tissues develop in the human body in the connection of muscles and skeleton to allow an immediate and efficient reaction or around the fetus in the first weeks of life to protect it from bacterial attacks. The concept of sinsityum has been developed on 2 fronts: 1) the building is designed to give a strong sense of protection, community and visual permeability while maintaining easy access even for the disabled 2) it is composed of single housing cells united by a single outer shell

Il 21mo secolo è caratterizzato da repentini cambiamenti in cui la velocità è la dominante della vita quotidiana accompagnata dalla disgregazione della famiglia, da forte inquinamento e instabilità. Contestualmente l'invecchiamento della popolazione accomuna tutte le nazioni piu avanzate. In tale realtà le fasce più deboli della popolazione, anziani, diversamente abili e giovani/giovani coppie necessitano di una nuova proposta abitativa che rispecchi i loro bisogni: spazi da abitare di superficie più contenuta, ma di elevata qualità e spazi comuni di facile accessibilità, senza barriere archittoniche e di stimolo alla socialità e all’interazione. Il progetto sviluppato a Milano Lambrate in via Pietro Andrea Saccardo propone un nuovo concetto abitativo evolvendo il concetto di casa di ringhiera in un complesso residenziale che interpreta le necessità di tali categorie di utenti. L'edificio interagisce col quartiere attraverso una corte pubblica, un piano terra adibito ad uso commerciale e con la trasformazione viaria di via Saccardo in shared street che articola e connette gli spazi urbani, la piazza, il mercato, l'area giochi e il bosco/parcheggio. L'area è uno degli accessi alla città di Milano con la concomitanza della ferrovia e di un elevato traffico veicolare. Cio determina la neessità progettuale di mitigare l’inquinamento acustico. Tali tessuti si sviluppano nel corpo umano nella connessione di muscoli e scheletro per permettere una reazione immediata ed efficiente o attorno al feto nelle prime settimane di vita per proteggerlo da attacchi batterici. Il concetto di sinsitio è stato sviluppato su più fronti: 1) l'edificio è concepito per dare un forte senso di protezione, comunità e permeabilità visiva mantenendo un agile accesso anche per i diversamente abili 2) è composto da singole cellule abitative accomunate da un unico involucro esterno
