This work is about realizing a control library with an Arduino microcontroller for educational purposes in automatic control. Specifically, the work shows how a PID control library is written and how it can be used. After the library is generated, an interface communicating with Arduino is designed to see the variables' behavior and observe the dynamics of the controller on a PC. In order to show how the library works three different examples are reported. The examples have different features so that the controller behavior can be shown from different viewpoints. The code for the library, the communication interface and the examples is entirely reported and commented.
