Over the years, technology has revolutionized our world. Technology has created amazing tools and resources, putting useful information at our fingertips. Over the past few years we have gotten accustomed to use services with a computer; terms like online banking and online shopping have become part of our daily life. More and more businesses have gained popularity by making very easy to buy goods and services; companies like Uber, Airbnb, Amazon, Trivago, Booking and many more have built their fortune on this concept. Some of these companies allow people to book hotels, taxies, flights, trains, restaurants without any human interaction whatsoever, increasing revenue for the company and making the process so much easier for the end user. This thesis follows this approach and it is aimed at people who frequently go to the gym and need to reserve machines for their practice. Allowing the user to book the gym's assets can improve the efficiency of their workout by eliminating needless waiting time and therefore improving the organization of the gym itself. The thesis proposes an implementation of this service via a mobile application intended to be used by the gym's clients. The system is thought to be a benefit provided by a company which owns several gyms and wants to give its customers the possibility to reserve their favourite assets to facilitate their workout.
Negli ultimi anni, la tecnologia ha rivoluzionato il nostro mondo, creando incredibili strumenti e rendendo disponibile una grande quantità di informazioni a portata di mano. Negli ultimi anni siamo ci siamo abituati a usare servizi con un computer; termini come online banking o online shopping sono diventati parte delle nostre vite. Sempre più aziende hanno acquisito popolarità rendendo molto facile comprare beni e servizi; compagnie come Uber, Airbnb, Amazon, Trivago, Booking e molte altre hanno costruito la proprio fortuna su questo concetto. Alcune di queste aziende permettono agli utenti di prenotare hotel, taxi, voli aerei, treni, ristoranti senza la necessità di un contatto umano, aumentando i guadagni dell’azienda e rendendo il processo molto più semplice per l’utente. Questa tesi segue questo approccio ed è pensata per le persone che frequentano abitualmente la palestra e hanno bisogno di prenotare degli attrezzi per il loro allenamento. Permettere all' utente di prenotare gli attrezzi di una palestra può migliorare l’efficienza del loro allenamento eliminando tempi di attesa inutili e di conseguenza migliorare l’organizzazione della palestra stessa. La tesi propone un’implementazione di questo servizio attraverso un’applicazione mobile pensata per essere usata dai frequentatori della palestra. Il sistema è erogato come un benefit messo a disposizione da una catena di palestre che ha intenzione di permettere ai propri clienti di prenotare attrezzi nelle proprie sedi, allo scopo di migliorare il loro allenamento.
