In recent years glass has increasingly found application in the structural field. This thesis after having introduced the chemical, physical and mechanical characteristics of glass, has faced the problem of structural behavior. Hence the need to introduce laminated glass and consequently the characteristics of the polymer interlayers that compose it. Subsequently, the reference documents for the design and construction of buildings with structural glass elements and the performance of experimental tests carried out on roof elements made of laminated glass with PVB Extra-strong interlayer. Particular attention is paid to the post-breakage behavior of glass plates with different load and constrain conditions and on the behavior and bearing capacity of a cantilever cover, made with different types of glass and interlayer. Thanks to a numerical model, information was obtained regarding stress state in the various tests. So it is possible to: • Perform a better design of the tested cover reporting three different design solutions; • Have an indication about the stresses caused by tempered glas plies in the post-breckage behaviour.

Abstract
So it is possible to: • Perform a better design of the tested cover reporting three different design solutions; • Have an indication about the stresses caused by tempered glas plies in the post-breckage behaviour.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
