Geotechnical engineering in deep waters fields is often facing the problem of installing heavy structures on soft seabed soils, with complex and variable loading conditions. Within this framework, the offshore field is always looking for more and more economical and efficient solutions; in this spirit of innovation originates this research project. In particular, starting from the structure analyzed by E. Nicolini and M. Castelletti in 2017 for Cathie Associates, and presented in their paper “Numerical analyses to determine the failure envelope of a cross-shaped plate foundations” published at OSIG 2017, some new features have been investigated and new results will be presented. The aim of this graduation thesis has been the foundation optimization concerning both geometry and dimensions. Moreover, in parallel to geotechnical investigation, the structural compatibility has been analyzed, in order to ensure the applicability of this kind of structure in real working conditions.
E. Nicolini e dall’ Ing.

Abstract
Moreover, in parallel to geotechnical investigation, the structural compatibility has been analyzed, in order to ensure the applicability of this kind of structure in real working conditions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
