Earned Value Management is not a very recent project control technique, and yet it is not so much utilized even though it offers great possibilities in project management. The goal of this document is to introduce principal Earned Value metrics and definitions, defining Earned Value Management as a technique and a process for project control, foreseeing an integrated management of cost and time with physical performances of the project. It will be discussed how the technique is implemented and used, what are its potentialities but also its limits, which brings us to discuss possible solutions and alternatives, such as a parallel method, almost dual to the Earned Value, which is to be considered an extension to it. This is Earned Schedule Management, a method that offers much more reliability and accuracy in terms of schedule project management.

Abstract
Earned Value Management is not a very recent project control technique, and yet it is not so much utilized even though it offers great possibilities in project management. The goal of this document is to introduce principal Earned Value metrics and definitions, defining Earned Value Management as a technique and a process for project control, foreseeing an integrated management of cost and time with physical performances of the project. It will be discussed how the technique is implemented and used, what are its potentialities but also its limits, which brings us to discuss possible solutions and alternatives, such as a parallel method, almost dual to the Earned Value, which is to be considered an extension to it. This is Earned Schedule Management, a method that offers much more reliability and accuracy in terms of schedule project management.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
