La fitta trama dei tessuti. Relazioni tra arte, moda e design in ambito tessile dal dopoguerra in Italia

The s-object is the fabric. Fabric as a material made of a network of fibers and cultures that involves multiple meanings and sensations that make it the object of artistic and design interpretations. An instrument of dialogue with creativity, that combines science and art, creating bridges of communication between areas that seem distant from each other like art and industry. The fabric, which will play the lead role, will be investigated in every aspect trying to gather its deepest expressiveness. The exchange, the interconnection and the reciprocal dialogues between the different cultural and disciplinary areas will be enhanced through the study of iconic textile forms. In this way, textile forms are intended not only as a technical, functional, artisan or industrial object, but also as forms of dialogue between various worlds and cultures. The history of the Italian fabric will be briefly retraced and the increasingly important role that it has played in Italy since the post-war period will be investigated. The exhibition is an immersive journey where emotion and cognition intertwine against the background of a wide and rich world of influences, in which new creations take place starting from the contamination of the arts. Artists, architects, designers who were intrigued by its possibilities or by the need for completeness of design, wanted to immerse themselves in this new universe, printing on the fabric like a canvas. Paying a little attention, can be noted how, after all, there are no differences between the painter's canvas and the fabric, which is also the result of a dense weaving of threads. The fabric becomes art, a meeting point between disciplines that weave a new story rich of relationships between fashion, art and design in an engaging journey that will accompany the visitor to discover new and different worlds in which the contaminations are protagonists and clear to the eyes of curious and show themselves in their complexity and harmony. The industries and the Trienniale are the realities that most encourage the approach between the arts and the new "fabric-centric" world. The exhibition comes to life in the capital of fashion and design, Milan. The Salone dei Tessuti, a historic and magical place that has preserved precious fabrics for more than a century, is now covered with its essence to recount the history of the fabric.

Il s-oggetto è il tessuto. Tessuto come materiale costituito da una rete di fibre e culture che comporta molteplici significati e sensazioni che lo rendono oggetto di interpretazioni artistiche e di design. Strumento di dialogo con la creatività, che sposa scienza e arte stabilendo ponti di comunicazioni tra ambiti che sembrano così distanti come quello tra arte e industria. Il tessuto, che sarà il protagonista, verrà indagato in ogni suo aspetto cercando di coglierne la sua più profonda espressività. Saranno valorizzati lo scambio, le interconnessioni e i dialoghi reciproci tra i diversi ambiti culturali e disciplinari attraverso lo studio di forme tessili iconiche. In questo modo, le forme tessili sono intese non solo come oggetto tecnico, funzionale, artigianale o industriale, ma anche come forme di dialogo tra vari mondi e culture. Verrà ripercorsa brevemente la storia del tessuto italiano e investigato il ruolo sempre più importante che esso ha avuto in Italia con particolare attenzione dal dopoguerra a oggi. La mostra è un percorso immersivo dove emozione e cognizione si intrecciano sullo sfondo di un mondo ampio e ricco di influenze, nel quale nuove creazioni hanno luogo a partire dalla contaminazione delle arti. Artisti, architetti, designer che incuriositi dalle sue possibilità o per necessità di completezza di progetto, si sono voluti immergere in questo nuovo universo, stampando sul tessuto come fosse tela. Prestando un poco di attenzione, si potrà notare infatti come, in fondo, non ci siano grandi differenze tra la tela del pittore e il tessuto, risultato anch’esso di un fitto intreccio di fili. Il tessuto diventa arte, punto di incontro tra discipline che tessono un nuovo racconto ricco di relazioni tra moda, arte e design in un viaggio coinvolgente che accompagnerà il visitatore alla scoperta di nuovi e differenti mondi nel quale le contaminazioni sono protagoniste e chiare agli occhi dei curiosi e si mostrano nella loro complessità e armonia. Le industrie e le Triennali sono le realtà che maggiormente incentivano l’avvicinamento tra le arti e il nuovo mondo “tessuto-centrico”. La mostra prende vita nella capitale della moda e del design, Milano. Il Salone dei Tessuti, luogo storico e magico che per più di un secolo ha custodito preziose stoffe, si riveste oggi della sua essenza per raccontare e narrare nuovamente la storia del tessuto.
