Aurora. La rinascita del Castello di Alboino

Aurora is the new Cultural Center of Feltre, in the middle of the ancient city, a suggestive space with a unique atmosphere, thanks to its historical and landscaping beauty which, thanks to its proximity to the Civic Library and the future Book Museum, can become an important catalyst for new flows and interests. It is a complex with enormous potential for aggregation, which aims to facilitate cultural exchanges and bring both tourists and, above all, citizens closer to the city, stimulating an active participation. The educational aspect of the project is fundamental, as it aims to lead users to discover not only the Castle, but also the city itself, its landscape and the creativity of its protagonists. This design intent has immediate repercussions on the urban territory which, overcoming the prevailing "museographical" conception of the historical center, determines a recovery of its social function, a full-fledged center of the city. Aurora has got different spaces inside, each of which has different destination of use: - A temporary exhibition space, which can be used primarily by the Municipality for the organization of exhibitions in line with the cultural project of the "Palcoscenico delle Arti", which will change from time to time based on the theme launched; then it will be provided for the creative minds of the place and not, in such a way as to highlight their abilities, thanks to the great presence of artists and artisans in the territory; - A multifunctional space dedicated to the organization of workshops, meetings and visits, whose theme is always connected to the type of exhibition / event present in the Castle; - An hostel dedicated to tourists who choose Feltre among the destinations of their journey in the mountains and who need an economical accommodation with a welcoming and domestic atmosphere, or to the athletes who participate in the various events in loco and who come from the most disparate parts Italy and the world; furthermore, here can find hospitality the artists invited during the events and also the local users who, during the evening organized in the outside, can decide to stay for one night in the Castle. - Three spaces for the city associations, which offer situations of debate and confrontation in a very informal and comfortable way, as if you were in your own living room, in line with the customs of our territory. Still in the perspective of social recovery of the old city, the bar and restaurant services are designed in collaboration with the surrounding activities, in such a way as to favor the most widespread development possible. As for the outside, where some events are still organized, this was designed with the aim of translating the damage caused by the hurricane Vaia in the recent October 29, 2018, which led to a great loss of green, leaving a totally uncovered view. From here comes Visioni, the idea of having an exhibition-educational path that, thanks to the presence of information totems, is able to tell the story not only of the castle but also of the landscape that surrounds it, reviving everything for a second time. It is a path that offers the user the possibility to look at Feltre and its beauties with different eyes, often taken for granted, especially by citizens. Finally, it must be remembered that the recovery of this complex constitutes an important intervention to safeguard the artistic and architectural assets concerned, with significant repercussions not only for the city of Feltre, but also in the surrounding areas

Aurora è il nuovo Centro Culturale Feltrino, situato nel bel mezzo della cittadella antica, uno spazio suggestivo dall’atmosfera unica, grazie alla sua bellezza storica e paesaggistica, che grazie alla sua vicinanza con l’odierna Biblioteca Civica ed il futuro Museo del Libro, può diventare un importante catalizzatore di nuovi flussi ed interessi. Si tratta di un complesso dalle enormi potenzialità di aggregazione, che ha come finalità la volontà di facilitare gli scambi culturali e di avvicinare alla città sia i turisti che, soprattutto, i cittadini, stimolandone una partecipazione attiva. Fondamentale è l’aspetto didattico del progetto, che vuole portare gli utenti alla scoperta non solo del Castello, ma anche della città stessa, del suo paesaggio e della creatività dei suoi protagonisti. Tale intento progettuale ha ricaduta immediata sul territorio urbano circostante che, superando la prevalente concezione “museografica” del centro storico, determina un recupero della sua funzione sociale, di centro a tutti gli effetti della vita cittadina. Aurora vede al suo interno diversi spazi, ognuno dei quali con destinazioni d’uso dfferenti: - Uno spazio espositivo temporaneo, che può essere in primis utilizzato dal Comune per l’organizzazione delle mostre in linea con il progetto culturale del “Palcoscenico delle arti”, le quali cambieranno di volta in volta in base alla tematica lanciata; poi sarà messo a disposizione anche delle menti creative del luogo e non, in modo tale da mettere in luce le loro abilità, data la grande presenza di artisti ed artigiani nel territorio; - Uno spazio multifunzionale dedicato all’organizzazione di workshop, incontri e presentazioni, la cui tematica è sempre strettamente connessa alla tipologia di mostra/evento presente nel Castello; - Un’ostello dedicato ai turisti che scelgono tra le mete del loro viaggio in montagna la bella Feltre e che necessitano di un’accomodazione economica dall’atmosfera accogliente e domestica, oppure agli sportivi che partecipano alle varie manifestazioni in loco e che arrivano dalle più disparate parti d’Italia e del mondo; inoltre qui possono trovare ospitalità gli artisti invitati in occasione degli eventi, ed anche gli utenti locali che magari, in caso di serate organizzate nello spazio esterno, possono decidere di sostare al Castello per una notte; - Tre spazi per le associazioni cittadine, i quali offrono situazioni di dibattito e confronto in modo molto informale e confortevole, come ci si trovasse nel proprio salotto di casa, in linea con le usanze del nostro territorio. Sempre nell’ottica di recupero sociale della cittadella feltrina, i servizi di bar e ristorazione sono pensati in collaborazione con le attività circostanti, in modo tale da favorire uno sviluppo più diffuso possibile. Per quanto riguarda invece il cortile esterno, dove già tutt’ora vengono organizzati alcuni eventi, questo è stato progettato con la finalità di tradurre in fattore positivo i danni causati dall’uragano Vaia nel recente 29 ottobre 2018, i quali hanno determinato una grande perdita di verde, lasciando una vista totalmente scoperta. Da qui nasce Visioni, l’idea di avere un percorso espositivo-didattico che, grazie alla presenza di totem informativi, riesce a narrare la storia non solo del castello ma anche del paesaggio che lo circonda, facendo rivivere il tutto per una seconda volta. Si tratta di un percorso che offre la possibilità all’utente di guardare con occhi diversi Feltre e le sue bellezze, spesso date per scontate, soprattutto dai cittadini. Va infine ricordato che il rilancio di questo complesso costituisce un importante intervento di salvaguardia dei beni artistici e architettonici interessati, con notevoli ripercussioni non solo per la città di Feltre, ma anche nelle aree circostanti.
