Mesh is a temporary design project that take place in Milan insiede the actual space of “Scalo Farini”, an old rail yard next to Lancetti Station. This area, more than 1300m long, today is almost abandoned. The project aim consist of an infrastructural upgrading, by a project, in order to sew the tear that Scalo Farini created after 1960, when the freight yard were closed. Analysing the adjacent districts of Milan, we found some solutions to people needs through the concept of Health. We design a sport compex with a simple scheme made by grid where every sport field creates deformations, drawing streets and modyfing the space. This grid is stretched all through the Scalo Farini. The result are some different experiences inside nine main structures connected by a path, highligted by Magenta color. This kind of journey inside and outside these structures is linked with the concept of Health and divided in three main ideas: the first three structures are about physical experience, second one that madiates between physical and mental, and the last more mental and sensorial. The project main element gravitates around the Magenta path, whitch crosses the streets and goes up and down from the roof of the main building of Scalo Farini. The area offers also other activities and services like bathrooms, greenhouses, relaxing spotsand green open spaces. We projected the 9 structures starting from the details. We deisgned a joint made by steel that connects three arms by a simple temporary crossing system, fixed by bolts. This kind of joint gave us the possibility to easily create different combination of structures with the same base and matherials. And I mainly aim at the action of the multi-functional sensitive structure designed in this project to react to the regeneration effect, through further regeneration action to mesh site cracks.
