Link. Uomo e macchina incatenati

Human and technology. If we explored the past and looked for the starting moment in which these two terms began to merge, an objective point would probably not result, but we would find a set of theories demonstrating how, over the years, they have always intersected. This thesis wants to investigate these relationships in the world of jewelry, where the artisan hand and the machine have always been in close contact. It is the past and the future that together create the present. On the one hand with tradition, our heritage, represented by one of the most iconic and representative jewels, the chain, which is told here from its origins. On the other hand progress, new technologies applied to it, which create artifacts no less worthy of those completely hand-made. We look for that point of union that surpasses the mistrust and the fears of the most, to look at the creation of something new, where maybe they are the same limits of a term and the other to create beauty. Chaining the hand to the machine and viceversa, creating a link between them.

Uomo e tecnologia. Se esplorassimo il passato e cercassimo il momento iniziale in cui questi due termini hanno cominciato a fondersi, probabilmente non ne risulterebbe un dato oggettivo, quanto più un insieme di teorie a dimostrazione di come, negli anni, essi si siano sempre intersecati. Questa tesi vuole indagare questi rapporti nel mondo del gioiello, dove la mano artigiana e la macchina sono sempre state a stretto contatto. Sono il passato e il futuro che assieme creano il presente. Da un lato con la tradizione, la nostra eredità, rappresentata da uno dei gioielli più iconici e rappresentativi, la catena, che qui viene raccontata dalle sue origini. Dall’altro il progresso, le nuove tecnologie ad essa applicate, che con poco o tanto stupore ci restituiscono artefatti non meno degni di quelli completamente fatti a mano. Si cerca quel punto di unione che sorpassi le diffidenze e le paure dei più, per guardare alla creazione di qualcosa di nuovo, dove magari sono gli stessi limiti di un termine e dell’altro a creare bellezza. Incatenando l’uomo alla macchina e la macchina all’uomo, creando tra essi un Link.
