Study and analysis about engine maps of naturally aspirated spark-ignition engine

In this thesis we will be studied the effects of the main engine parameters, such as the air-fuel ratio and the compression ratio, on a spark-ignition engine by analyzing the maps generated by the "Gasdyn" software. It will be investigated,moreover, the effects of the Atkinson-Miller cycle application, on the same engine, by advancing and retarding the closing of the valve.

In questa tesi verranno studiati gli effetti dei principali parametri motoristici, come il rapporto aria combustibile e il rapporto di compressione, su motore ad accensione comandata mediante l'analisi i mappe generate tramite il software "Gasdyn". Verranno inoltre valutati gli effetti, sempre sul medesimo motore, dell'applicazione del ciclo Atkinson-Miller mediante anticipo e ritardo della chiusura della valvola.
